Looking to write about anything and everything AniManGaki?
We welcome all media specialists over the age of 18 for a chance to get media access into our events.

CATEGORY

The eligibility for a Media Pass may fall under one of the following categories:

Printed media & newswire reporters

Individuals employed under an official media outlet must be able to present and provide:

  • A copy of your business card with name, title, and media outlet logo AND
  • A published article from your publication written by you and published within the last two (2) months (copy must clearly show your name, publications and by-line).

Freelance Journalists

Individuals from societies, self-established firms or studios are required to register to qualify as media. We require that you provide:

  • A copy of your business card with your name and title (if any), AND
  • A byline interactive entertainment industry-related article from a publication written by you and published within the last two (2) months (the copy must clearly show the name of the publication and your by-line).

Online blogs, vlogs & reporters

Web sites or platforms must be previously established and updated regularly (at least every seven days) with original and current news, and have a minimum of 10,000 unique hits per month via Google or Facebook Analytics. To qualify as online media, please provide:

  • A physical copy of a URL to your online publication with your name and title appearing in a by-lined interactive entertainment industry-related article from your publication written by you and published within the last two (2) months (the copy must clearly show the name of the publication and your by-line).

Broadcast (TV & Radio) Journalists

AniManGaki understands that there are times a team may comprise of more than one individuals assigned to cover the convention. However, as space is limited, each company is limited to a maximum of five total representatives. Please contact us for further information and consideration.

Social Media Influencers

Social media pages must be previously established and updated regularly (at least every 14 days) with contents, and have a minimum of 25,000 likes or followers.

FAQ

Who should apply as media for AniManGaki?

AniManGaki press passes are for media specialists over the age of 18. If you have a website with a healthy following and wish to cover our event, you are already eligible for access. AniManGaki will review each application submitted, with the qualifications of the entries determined on a case-by-case basis by AniManGaki Public Relations Department. Employees of media outlets who do not work in an editorial capacity, such as art directors, district managers, graphic designers, marketing, advertising, public relations, sales representatives, may not qualify for a press pass.

What should I bring?
Individuals and media outlets that have been approved by our department are required to present a photo ID to collect their respective press kit and passes.

I have attended AniManGaki as media in the past. Do I have to apply again?
Yes, although instead of the formal route, you would be sent an email of invitation instead. Since 2014, we have experimented on the different media outlets that have applied and approved as media at AniManGaki. From the feedback and cooperation of past media outlets, we are able to sieve through good content to be shared with our attendees, visitors and the community. However, those would have fulfilled their part as media in the previous year will have a high chance of being invited to provide excellent coverage again.

How do I know if I am an approved AniManGaki media?

After submitting your application, we will review each application with our team, reviewing your credentials and verify your status. Once you have been accepted, an email will be sent for further instructions for your AniManGaki Press Pass application.

How do I collect my AniManGaki Media Passes?

Collection of media passes will commence at 9.00 am onwards on event days, at the info counter. Please present identification if you have already registered online.

If you are unable to collect the passes close to the time stated, please contact us and inform on this matter so we may arrange an appropriate time for you to pick it up.

What is included with the Media Pass?

The AniManGaki media pass allows you to access both days and all the same areas of the convention as regular attendees, access any workshops or panels (subject to capacity), special media interviews with our guests (sign-up required), and Media Access Only areas. You will receive a goodie bag too!

How do I change the information I have submitted or contact for the further information on AniManGaki?

We highly advise on resubmitting another application through the online registration form. Any duplicates are found in our records, we will take the latest entry as the most current and valid submission. If you have any further questions regarding media, do contact [email protected].
