Started from nothing, and now we’re here.
Behold, a history of how the very essence of ‘dynamic’ played a huge role in making us who we are today;
One of Malaysia’s largest and greatest annual animation, comics, and games (ACG) conventions.
Our mission is to be a gathering place for enthusiasts, fandoms, and followers to celebrate all things geeky, ranging from the edgy Japanese pop-culture to the Marvel-DC of the Western world. Typically held over a fun-filled weekend of costumes, exhibits, theme-inspired activities, guest appearances, stage performances, and more, AniManGaki is sure to give all visitors an amazing and memorable experience of a lifetime!
DID YOU KNOW?
AniManGaki is the portmanteau of four words: Anime, Manga, Games, and Gaki (Japanese slang for ‘brat’).
AniManGaki is the brainchild of Yvonne Sing (also the founder of the Sunway University Anime Club). The annual convention made its debut in 2009, formed by fans, for fans; with the sole purpose of bringing together animation, comics, and game enthusiasts of all ages. Forever curious and daring to try new things, AniManGaki continues to surprise visitors by bringing new contents to the event each year.
Since 2012, AniManGaki has finalised its separation from Sunway University, becoming a convention organized by the AniManGaki Organizing Committee, presently a division under Rakugaki Events PLT. Its founding members continue to participate in major event operations today. They (along with new members) have made calls to improve the structure of the event, including the painful decision to leave its birthplace for larger venues to accommodate the rising number of attendees.
Specialising on geek culture, Rakugaki Events PLT have diversified to provide event management and solution services for commercial clients (third parties); creating successful events at various settings (online or offline) and style, ranging from game launches, themed cafes, pop-up activations, and competitions and more. AniManGaki is also a proudly representing Malaysia as a member of the International Otaku Expo Association (IOEA) of Japan.
